Resale Shop

The church hosts a yard sale once a month to raise money for the People’s House. Come to buy used items, have free breakfast, or to make donations of your own!

FAQs

  • The shop is always open on the second Saturday of each month. For example, some upcoming sale dates are:

    May 10, June 14, July 12, August 9, (2025)

    During these sale days, we are open from 8:00am-2:00pm. Free breakfast is offered from 8:00am-10:00am.

  • Typically pancakes, french toast, bacon, sausage, coffee, orange juice, and maybe doughnuts. All free! Some food pantry items may also be available to take home.

  • You can make an appointment to shop or donate on other days, especially Wednesdays, by contacting one of the salespeople. Feel free to text 302-765-7003 if you have questions about the shop.

  • Yes, sometimes. On sale days (2nd Saturdays) we can accept credit card payments on purchases over $10. On those days we also accept Apple Pay.

    Otherwise we accept cash payments at any time.

  • Yes, if you donate when the shop or church is open, we can give you a donation receipt so that the value of your donation is fully tax deductible. Thank you for donating!

  • Thank you for wanting to donate! Donations can technically be made at any time at one of the church entrances. HOWEVER, the best times for donation are:

    Wednesdays 9am-4pm

    Second Saturdays 8am-2pm (during sales)

    Sundays 8:30am-12:00pm (during service)

    At these times, donations will be able to be picked up quickly, rather than being left outside.

  • Anything you would find at a typical thrift store or yard sale. That includes furniture, clothes, shoes, tools, toys, art, pet items, books, rugs, dishware, appliances, etc!

    We can even accept undamaged food and canned goods to offer at our food pantry.

    Thank you for anything you can donate or buy! It helps a lot.

  • Most of the proceeds go to maintaining the People’s House. For more information on that, go to the “People’s House” tab.

    Any additional profit goes to other benevolence causes voted on by the church elders.

    The shop workers are all volunteers and the shop is a fully non-for-profit effort. Your donations & purchases help a lot of people! Thank you!

  • Yes, we are always happy to have more help since we have a lot of merchandise to sort through and price. Simply show up on any Wednesday from about 9am-4pm or email admin@newarkchurch.com

  • While you can still donate wedding dresses (or other clothing) to our shop any time, we are no longer actively searching for wedding dresses to repurpose. Thank you to those who gave in the past!
